CurrentBackend Engineer & Support Engineer
redBus
OMEGA platform (including Inventory Acquisition System / IAS)
I work on the OMEGA platform end to end for Indonesia — bus and ferry inventory acquisition — not only IAS. In a software-and-support role similar to a forward deployed engineer, I ship backend changes, own production support, and build internal tools that keep inventory fresh and failures visible under peak load.
- Operate and extend OMEGA platform services for bus and ferry inventory in the Indonesia region (Asia-Pacific)
- Run and maintain IAS as one part of the wider OMEGA acquisition stack
- Built internal tools for daily tentative and confirmation failure tracking so support and engineering see booking-health trends faster
- Initiated webhooks to pull inventory more often in real time for Indonesia geographies
- Blend software engineering with production support — on-call style ownership of live inventory flows
- Use Dash (Plotly) for live performance monitoring and transaction tracking
- Tune MySQL and MongoDB queries, indexes, and latency under load
- Ship REST API changes for operator onboarding and feature expansion
- Work with Erlang services in the inventory / acquisition stack
- Trace failed transactions, debug production issues, and fix root causes
- Collaborate daily with engineering teams based in India on errors and releases
- Build additional internal tooling with AI-assisted development (Cursor) and LLM observability (Langfuse)
Scale
- Handles transactions from millions of daily users on the wider platform
- Indonesia region covers bus and ferry operators on the OMEGA acquisition stack
- Supports multiple countries and operators across Asia-Pacific
- Processes millions of transactions monthly
Impact
- Keeps OMEGA / IAS uptime and transaction reliability under peak load in Indonesia
- Webhook-driven inventory fetching improves real-time availability for Indonesia geos
- Daily tentative/confirmation failure tooling gives faster visibility into booking health
- Shortens path for new bus and ferry operators to integrate into the platform
